Aerobic exercise is a type of physical activity that 
  • increases the heart rate and breathing for an extended period of time. 
  • Examples include running, cycling, swimming, and brisk walking. 
  • Aerobic exercise improves cardiovascular fitness, helps to burn calories, and can have positive effects on mental health and mood. 
  • It is typically recommended to perform at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise, for overall health and fitness.
